Employer Notice Update

Before you head out for the long weekend, we wanted to share two important employer notice updates:

Oakland

The City of Oakland has released the required employer notice for their Emergency Paid Sick Leave Ordinance (enacted for Oakland employees during the COVID-19 pandemic).

San Francisco

The Office of Labor Standards Enforcement has released an updated version of the required notice for the Paid Parental Leave Ordinance. As a reminder, the benefit has increased to 8 weeks for new parental claims beginning on or after July 1, 2020.

These notices must be provided to employees in a manner calculated to reach all employees: by posting in a conspicuous place at the workplace, via electronic communication, and/or by posting in a conspicuous place in an employer’s web-based or app-based platform.
